While the hotel is like many others of its era it bit tired, the hotel was comfortable, the rooms on the 4th floor were spacious with two queen beds. in the room we had. The beds and pillows were exceptionally comfortable nd overall the hotel was very clean, The dining room was closed due to no staff so we didn't eat there, there was plenty of secure parking on site which was a bonus. My colleague said that the gym equipment didn't work ( treadmills etc) so that was a bit frustrating for them.

We; a group of four (two couples); enjoyed a two night stay at Copthorne Rotorua. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable, and all the staff we encountered were lovely, and that includes maintenance staff that we engaged with occasionaly. The beds were very, very comfortable. The only down side was that we had to wait for quite some time for the bar to be opened and to be served, I understand that not being able to get staff is a contributing factor, and the person that was working the bar was also organising the restaurant at the time we were waiting, perhaps a sign on the bar, to say that the bar was unable to open for this reason, or to see reception for service would be helpful. Apart from that we could not fault our stay in any way, and would definitely stay again. :)

Plenty of parking spaces. Big rooms. Good bedding. The hotel seems to be rather old. Good view from the fourth floor. Has 2 hot tubs for guests. The water pressure in the bathroom was not very good. Would choose to stay at the sister hotel (Millennium Hotel Rotorua), but may consider this one if the price is right.
